pub restaurant

The name Dauser and Gulaschkanone are inextricably linked in Düsseldorf. The city-famous soups and stews from the family business are prepared fresh every day and can be enjoyed directly on site at Carlsplatz. Anyone who has acquired a taste for it can take a few tinned dishes home with them.

The Dauser family has been catering for their guests in and around Düsseldorf since 1947. In 1973, Josef Dauser had an unconventional idea: delicious stews and soups straight from the goulash cannon. This proved to be a recipe for success shortly afterwards. Just in time for the opening of the then new Düsseldorf Trade Fair Centre in 1976, the invention became extremely popular. The stand at Carlsplatz has now been in existence for over 40 years, since 1979. In addition to offering international specialities, the Düsseldorf goulash cannon is a popular attraction for friends of Rhenish home cooking. The traditional company describes the savoury stews as a little trip back in time.
